I have a box of these bullets with blue sabots packaged and sold by Knight. They came in an 18 count box for 19.00. It also comes in a 290 gr. I went to the barnes web site and did a search but it is like the bullet never existed. Probably my lack of puter skills. Does anyone know if this bullet is sold lose in a 50 or 100 count box? Thanks for all input

By any chance does SBT equate to "Spitfire Boat Tail"? If the answer is yes I might be able to help you.
A Spitfire is basicly a hollow pointed spitzer type all copper bullet with out the poly tip on the bullet. They usually come in 245grn and 285grn weights.

Yes Sir Art, Thats the one Is it sold lose. I have a few and MY Rifle likes .452 bullets so I didn't want to try it and find that my ml10 loves it if it cost me a buck a piece.

As far as I know, they are not sold loose. I ordered some boat tails today, to use in testing the Harvester Orange and Yellow sabots they sent to try. The only choice I found was either 15 or 24 count pack with sabots.
While on the subject of sabots, who makes the yellow ones that come with these boat tailed Barnes bullets? I thought it was MMP, but they do not show them on their web page?

Boarhog, I am almost 100% certain Harvester makes them for Barnes, IIRC this was told to me by a tech at Harvester as I spoke to him while ordering some of the Yellow CR sabots for use only with and design spacificly for all copper Barnes BT ML bullets. They are (the yellow ones that come with the Barnes bullets) excellent sabots and are the toughest I have ever used.
Deadon I will get back to you on the bullets.
Arthur.

Art, unless there was a change, MMP sabots were sold with the Knight and Barnes boat tailed bullets as well as the flat based TEZ. The TEZ sabots were a blue version of the MMP HPH 24, Harvester does not sell a stepped base sabot that I am aware of. Possible they have switched vendors lately.

When I tried these 245's some years ago they shot very well at 100 yds but at 200 it looked like a shotgun pattern. deadon before you tried these I would go back and read arts post on these. What I understood he kurled them pretty good. And it worked for him. I know I have some of these somewhere and when I find them I am going to try as he suggests. I will probably use 44.5 grs of N110 because that should be close to the speed I was getting with the old 4759. Be sure and let us know how you came out especially if you shoot some over 100 yds. I knew I had some target pics of these just had to find them.
