After 264 shots out of my ml10 50 cal I am now shooting consistent 1 1/8 To 1 1/4 inch groups. As most of you know I have worried the Crap of of you with question and I sincerely thank everyone for all the Help., especially the guys that so generously sent me stuff to try. I have settled on the 250 gr XTP with 44 grs of 4759 and the Harv. smooth Black Sabot. this loads easy enough the I can load it with the factory Ram rod so reloading when hunting will not be a problem. I am still going to try 45 46 and 47 grs of 4759 as Herman and Richard suggested but at least now I am ready for Muzzleloader season. ;D Again thanks to everyone, Rusty

Smokeater HUH? Jak a my what? Deadon I believe that line (Egyptian) is from the movie The Mummy Returns when the Scorpion King (The Rock) orders his troops to strive forward with the attack on the city. Hey you not only have a good hunting load but this should also be your first Base line Load. I would call that a good accomplishment. Ed

I'ved lived the South Florida for 56 years, [you can't get more South] I hope that makes me "A Right Wing, Gun Loving, Red Neck"I fly the Stars and Stripes every day. America Right or Wrong, If the balloon went up tomorrow, I would be first in line to defend this Nation, I wonder how many of the garbage in D.C. would be there.

ET, Thank you Sir with out you I would be at the point with my 50 cal ml10 ;D No specific thank you or credit here. It's always a team effort from this board to help others. What pleases me and others is when someone gets their 10ML-II to really start shooting as it's meant to shoot. Also I find there should be credit for the shooter who has patience and diligence with finding the right load combination. You were open minded to helpful suggestions and stuck it out till it happened. Nicely done. Ed

Dave, thank you very much, everyones help was phenominal. I just got home from the huntclub and low and behold, I found 10 ea 245 gr barnes SBTs. They are .452 bullets and I put one in one of those yellow CRs that I tried to give away and they measure .502 which loads in my ml10 at about 30 #s of seating pressure so the testing aint'e over yet ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D PS, Can you buy that barnes bullet loose?

Yeh Richard, I think I have a fairly tight bore. My ML 10 does not seam to like any .458 bullets with any combination of anything.Have not figured that out yet but as I love to shoot and do not love heavy recoil, I am happy it worked out that way instead of the other way.I purchased my ml10 from a small country gun shop, maybe it was there a long time and maybe it is one of the older ones that folks say were better barrels, I do not know.

deadon: I had never tried the 300 gr bullets with the new lots of 4759 but today I shot 4 shots useing 47.5 grs with a lot from 07 year.I had some of the red sabots that come with the easy load sst's and they didn't group to well but the speed wasn't that much either.I got an average of 21 47 with the four.If would have had the haverster sabots with me they might have grouped better???They would have been a little faster also being tighter in the barrel.
