Has there been any loads worked up for the new IMR 8208 XBR? This was developed from a legendary Benchmark powder. Now available to everyone, Its a slow burner and very accurate and the best thing is the average velocity spread from ammo at 0 degrees to 125 degrees is only 14 fps, ie good for anything from the arctic to the desert. sounds like a natural for smokeless hunting loads. I wouldn't know where to start and don't plan to experiment but wanted to know if there is anyone doing the work ups on this powder. Mark

I would be interested to know if this powder has any use in the Savage ML. I bought a lb to try in my 30-30.

Burn rate chart puts it between AA2460 and H4895. These are on the slow side of everything that is currently being used.

i've been curious as well about this powder, it sounds promising. in my 45 i've used H4895 and had good accuracy, as well as plenty of recoil, shooting sabotless. my guess is that for 45, and probably 40 as well that it might be a useful powder? might depend a slight bit on its ability to ignite in adverse conditions though..?

It might possibly work in the .40 or .45 as a duplex. For my 23" PN I think it would be too slow. Richard
