Got some of the .357/.358 X 45 sabots and they are nice but ... 1. Is there a sabot that will take real .375+ bullets for a 45? Seems the selection of .375+ bullets would be much better for hunting. .38 is also the legal minimum bullet diameter for MLing here in VA.
2. Would it be possible to paper patch a .375 up to .402 to use in the 40 X 45 sabots and it would give minute of deer accuracy?
Perhaps that would be a good summer project!

I haven't seen a 375 sabot from anybody, but you may be on to something with the paper patching. Not sure how the slower twists will affect a longer bullet, but should take a whole 5 shots to find out for sure!!

Wayne, Call Cecil at PR bullet. He has a long petaled .357x.45 sabot that shoots really well in my .45 Rem 700ML. WWW.prbullet.com. Click on the bullet in the crosshairs icon to get to the web sales. Good Luck!

I knew he had them but I did not think he sold them with out selling the bullets too. Does he? His bullets are real pricy if you just want the sabots. I too wish someone sold the .375's. I played with some of the 200 gr..375's and attempted to add another layer of material around the bullet that would fall away with the sabot. Used a knight .45 and light blue harvesters/BH209 . Could not get it consistant. I think it would shoot fine if someone made a sabot for it even with a 1/28 twist. If Cecil can get a .357 to shoot in a .45 a .375 will shoot better if the bullet is kept short. thanks Wayles

If he had a 357 or 375 in 40cal. I would be happy as a lark. Lets face it he leans toward th larger market witch is b/p and unless you reduce your load to b/p range it doesn't work well. You may give up a lot of volicity but at least it is clean. Jon

This may be a dumb question but if your state minimum bullet diameter is .38, how will a .375 be legal?
