In my BP guns I have been shooting Swiss and Goex exclusivly for a while. Ignoring my advice, my brother has purchased a new TC Triumph, I reccomended a Savage ML II. He is stepping up from a Renegade due to older eyes needing a scope and wanting to use 209 ignition. He has also seen some of the shots that the guys shooting inlines and Savages are making on deer and needs to extend his range. I haven't used any of the subs like White Hots, Blackhorn 209 or Black Mag. Which of those 3 seems to be the cleanest shooting? He is leaning towards continuing to use "belted" bullets due to difficulty loading sabots after the 1st shot with the "dirtier" powders, ie: 777 and Pyrodex. I haven't tried the new subs so what kind of evaluations do you guys have? Which is cleaner burning and will allow easy loading of sabots, at least 3 or 4 shots, w/o swabing barrel? Thanks, 10 ga

for me.......BH209 hands down.
I had heard/read somewheres where Alliant was working on a BP sub too.

Blackhorn +1, you can load and shoot without having to patch, it is cleaner makes less smoke, hands down the best right now.
Tha Alliant sub is going to be called Black Dot and it is really BlackMag 3, since they bought the rights to make it and market it, BlackMag shot good also but not as good as BH209. Tell him to stop using the other stuff.

Do not discount BlackMag....when it is good, it is VERY good! I used the older Blackag2 version for several years and thought it was the best stuff ever invented....still the most accurate ML powder sub I have ever shot....as a plus, it is easy to ignite with all ignition systems. I switched to smokeless and never shot the BlackMag3 version so I can't speak directly to that generation.

My set up in my CVA Accura.... The powder truly is amazing! 3 shots @100 yards.
