Anybody using the new reloader 17 in a 6.5 rem mag? I have been using it in a 6.5-284 with great results and was wondering if i could use similar load data since the 6.5 rem mag and 6.5-284 have nearly identical Case capacities

I don't see why you couldn't. Just proceed with caution. I have the chance to get a deal on a Rem Sendero Special in 300 Win Mag . I would have no use for a caliber that large and was contemplating rebarreling to a 6.5 Rem Mag. That's probably the largest case that a 6.5 could take without it being a barrel burner like the 264 Win Mag. and I could long seat the bullets with the longer action. I was thinking that I could even make cases from 7mm Rem Mag since I know a lot of guys that don't reload for them. That may be less costly than trying to locate 284 cases or doing a 6.5 x 7mm WSM.

A 6.5-06 and 6.5 rem mag DO have identical case capacities. At least within .5 grains or so, but with differences in brass that could be plus or minus.
