Went to my range today near Tampa, great day to shoot. Temps in 40s no wind. This is the first time I have shot this gun. I am a Savage shooter and shoot smokeless, this is the first time I have shot this new to me Knight 45cal with the Lehigh conversion package. The gun shoots really well but it is dirty. I was shooting at 100yards, 180gr xtp, tan MMP sabot, fed209a, 80gr. weighed Blackhorn 209. Fouled the bore with several primer shots then went at it. Ten rounds total fired. Shots 1-3 were scope adjustments, the 4th was right in the bullseye no more adjustments made for the rest of the group. After the 4th shot the bolt became difficult to open it took some force and the primers would not roll out of the gun as they did before, just like the Savage when a primer wont extraxt I recocked it, pulled the trigger and the primer rolled out. No blowback was directed at the bottom of the scope it was all into the receiver and bolt. I did not dry patch and they all loaded OK, the Blackhorn does allow multiple shots without dry patch or wet patch with Hoppes. I have never shot Blackhorn till today and it is a stout kicker in this gun with that load. The gun was allowed to free recoil and the bulls eye at 100 yards after sighting in the scope was well shot out. I allowed the barrel to cool after each 2 shot string and went to shooting my 22cal for about 15 min then shot another 2 shot string. The tan sabots look good. Those little holes in the bottom left of the target are from my 22cal. Mike

Mike, I noticed on the Knight lovers site "Modern Muzzleloader" that someone posted a correspondence from Lehigh concerning the recall of the kits. It appears that a lot of fellows are experiencing the same problem as you. Hopefully you contacted Lehigh concerning the matter. I'm pretty sure that they are in the process of correcting the mass failure. Good Luck!

Mike, Did you not get a refund? Did you not get a letter or email from Lehigh?
Most of the crap on your pictures is grease? Clean everything up and put pipe tape on your plug and see what it looks like. The plug is being changed and you will receive another when complete.
