To all you owners of the REM 700ml. Would you buy a 209 conversion unit that would put a stop to the horrible blowback that these other wise super fine muzzleloaders have? A 209 conversion unit kinder like the one that Lehigh's DAVE has just came out with for the knight Extreme and Elite. Yes i know Sabotloader and some other's are already working on such a unit.I am not trying to step on there toes are get in there work way. I have told a new friend of mine that i would post and try to find out if there would be enought interest in these unit's if they were ever made.
So post away if you would buy such a unit if it were ever made for sale from a very well know company if the price was fair

Larryfox1; Ther are several folks out their that are playing around with the Rem 700 ML. And each has his own ideas. Some of them offer a nice modification, others are not so good. The bottom line is stopping blowback, and ignition. I have had two 700's done, and am very satisfied with them. I am sure that anyone who owns a Rem 700 ML has experenced very heavy blow back, and if they tried BH209 they may have delayed ignition. The 700, being the rifle it is, makes for a surpurb ML when modified. I am sure that 700 owners would jump on something like you mention. I think that if it were made like the one for the Knight for the owner to apply by not having to send the gun away, it may catch on. I have a .45 and .50 cal. I havn't shot the .45 yet but I did the .50, and its accurate and soot free with excellent ignition. To answer your question, ( YES )

I enjoy playing around and trying to conquer the blowback issue and I have had some success with my own ideas but I would certainly be interested in a proven product and at a reasonable price.

Thanks topusmc for your input. I am trying to find out for Lehigh's Dave if there would be a market big enought that he would look in to it first Larryfox1; Ther are several folks out their that are playing around with the Rem 700 ML. I think there would be a market for it. I would be interested in seeing the firing pin and bolt face improved on the Knight DISC series of rifles also. I might have to get a 700 ML if this becomes a reality.

:)larry why not show us what your conversion consists of?we have all did conversion of oneway or another that are blowback free and posted our designs.im sure anyone with a 700ml that is not mechanically inclined who love to have there 700ml blowback free so post a few pics.when i did mine around 4 years ago my concern was to turn the slamfire into a centerfire and eliminate blowback which turned out to be %100 sucessful.unfortunetly the way i did it was not with ease like sabotloaders conversion therefore was not something that i thought guys would be willing to pay.but after seeing mm's that are going for almost $200 maybe they would have.so the bottonline is can it be produced at a good price and will it be universal?also as far as the lrms vs the 209's go id have to say i've shot enough of both probably as much as most and can say one thing they both are accurate and reiliable.the lrms are probably the perfect ignition but your plug design needs to be much shorter or you need to recess your plug to make it shorter.209's have no problems in the ignition department and are easy shoot'em and throw them away.the problem with the 209's is there lengths differ alot which can cause headspacing problems.i've rambled enough lets see some pics...

dave d,This thread was never about how to fix the blow back issue ,nor was it ever about asking for pep's to grand stand to show off there pic's in handy work are ideas/designs.It seams that alot of peps just want there ideas/desings put into play. This thread was only about if there would be a market big enought for such a unit,if it were made at a fair price. That's all I am sorry that i ever ask the question are ever started this thread.

Larry ,don't get too worked up over the questions. We are all curious and I believe support your efforts to find a reasonable solution to the issue. Many have tried and the methods seem to have funneled into a couple of options that seem to really work.I don't think anyone is dissing you and from what I have been reading here and on the other forums that this was posted that if it is reasonably priced and it works, bring it on!

:)larry I don't understand why you are getting so defensive about this if you have developed a great solution to the one flaw on the 700ml then let's see it or am I mistaking? If so I apologize but I never meant anything by my post but to help and would love to see a pic of your great idea.
