OK, I have been shooting for awhile now and just got my first MZ. Can someone tell me why I see lots of examples of GREAT three shot group cloverleafs pictures on this forum but they are not on the Bull's Eye. I always try to achieve my point of aim at the bull whatever distance I am to the target (I guess since I am primarily a Bow Hunter/Target shooter).
Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question, but I heard a long time ago that no question is a dumb question when you are starting new on a subject.
Thanks for some discussion on this.

If I have my gun sighted in with a specific load that I use for hunting I leave it there if I can. When trying other bullet -powder combinations to see how they group you would waste a lot of time amd componets to get it sighted in if is is not what you want. As soon as you changed something you would have to re site your gun again there by using 2-3 times more powder- bullets ect to try each load.

When testing loads for speed and grouping, I don't worry at all about where the group prints, as long as it's on paper. Once I settle on my preferred hunting load, I will fine tune the scope so that the group will print where I want. Usually, I sight all my rifles to print around 3" high at 100 yds.

and most dont want the bullseye marked up with bullet holes for more precision aiming while testing, after testing, before going hunting/shooting we do take out the bullzeye!

I have yet to see an elk or deer with a bullseye on them. As long as the point of impact is +/- 2" from my point of aim for deer or +/- 4" for elk it's good enough for me. AFter that, it's all about how to cook the tenderloin.
