I just a got a new MZ and want to go to the range and get some shots off. My question is this; can anyone out there suggest a cheap way to puts some sand bags together or have home made plans of shooting bags they can send my way. I am not ready yet to buy a Lead Sled. All I want is to rest the front of my rifle on something solid to shoot off the wood bench at my shooting range.
Thanks for any help out there.

:)paul take a pair of old jeans and cut the legs off. Go to home depot and get a bag of play sand and fill up those pant legs. Close the ends with zip ties. I've been using them for about 15yrs. And to answer your other question on groups not in the bull it's because most guys are just shooting for groups so it doesn't matter if they go in the bull.

I use old 25lb lead shot bags and chicken grit, I have tried everything you can imagine for stuffing but the chicken grit works best!!!

As per DaveD post but I use perlite from the garden center. A bit lighter and easier to handle. I use pants that my kids have out grown or go to 2nd hand or goodwill for stuff to cut up. Small pants take less fill than the HUGE pants that most of us guys have. 10 ga

I don't use them, but my friend who is one of the range masters swears by pant legs filled with rice. Seems to work very well
