I am trying to buy a 1X scope from a friend, I know what the scope is worth but the only way he will sell it to me is a package deal with the gun. I have no interest in the gun but want the scope pretty bad. The gun is a CVA Hunter Bolt Magnum 50 cal with a camo stock and blued barrell. What is it worth and do you guys feel there would be much interest in it in the Classifieds. I would want to price it for a quick sale, just want the scope and to recoup what the gun would be worth. Thanks Joe

You told us what the gun is, but what scope is on it that you want so badly? A used Hunter Bolt isn't going to bring a lot.

Tell the guy he's better off selling the items separately. Tell him you know someone that had a MK85 with two stocks, sold the lamintated stock, the Redfield scope, and the 209 conversion kit for $407 minus shipping and he's still got the MK85 yet!

I would be very cautious about taking a used CVA. They aren't expensive when new and are worth almost nothing used. I wouldn't think you could get $100 out of it and would think it might be worth closer to $50. You might not even be able to dump it for that low price though, so be ready to take a loss on it! Too many guys on this board are too educated to buy a CVA. I had two of them that i had gotten in a trade, just like you are describing except one was a .45. They were both unopened NIB and i ended up dumping both of them for almost nothing just to be rid of them. Be careful................
