Buddy has a tupperware stock blued savage 10mlII. He told me the last time he was out, he noticed the ram rod wasn't staying seated in the stock. If you pointed the gun down, it would slide forward. In the past he felt a slight click and it held in place. Temp was in low single digits, no idea if that's the issue or if this is a common problem and if so what's the fix? Thanks

The spring in the stock has probably slipped out of place. Look at your's if you need to and tell him what is the proper position it should be located in the stock. He may need to put in back in the proper place and super glue it or something else to keep it in the right place.

Thanks. I shoot an SMI so can't help him. He'll be done hunting with it in a few weeks, we'll take the stock off then and give it a good look. If anyone has any pics of what we should be looking for, that would be great

It may also be due to the cold weather! Things contract (shrink) in the cold and it may very well be the problem. Removing the barrel and putting the spring back is no big deal. But be careful about tipping the barrel so that the spring does not fall out and get lost. If it does I may have a spare that he can have.
