Hats off to the boys at SMI. I rescoped my SMI Encore .50 with a Centerpoint 4-16x50 yesterday. Temp. was 31 degrees. Shooting 72 grains 2015, Winchester 209, Barnes Expander 250grain bullet, Barnes sabot. I have never shot this good in my life!! 5/8" at 100 yards (3 shots), letting the barrel cool 10 minutes between shots. I noticed that the bullet was ALOT harder to load at this temp. Has anybody else experienced hard bullet loading in colder temps?? I know this is a cheap scope, but wanted to really test it on this gun...it came in great.

Mine loads noticeably harder in cold temps. Great shooting!

Try loading a BO and a RCR when it is below 10. You need a hammer to get it down the barrel. I warmed up the RCR by holding it in my hand then loaded it and you still need a hammer.

When you say barnes sabot, do you mean the sabot that came with them? Isn't it an MMP? Anyone know if it's a 12 or 24?

Yes, these were the sabots that came with the bullets.

Good shooting, sounds like you have a accurate rifle on your hands!
