What is the correct bullet size for the .45? .451 or .452. Thanks

For sabotless, sizing .451 or .452 will almost certainly be needed. Saboted loads involve .40 cal bullets.

Sorry I forgot that part. I am shooting with sabots but I was just trying to find the size of the .40 bullet you use with the .45 sabot. Thanks

Majority seem to shoot either the 195 Barnes Expander or the Hornady 200 SST

I have found the .40 cal. 200 XTP will shoot right alongside the 200 gr.SST's and 195 Barnes out to the 100 or so, yard mark............then the others take over due to high BC's. Richard

On the 200 SST what kind of groups are you getting at 200 plus yards? And is that a good deer bullet or would anyone choose a different one and why. Thanks lunchbox

Thanks lunchbox I can vouch for good terminal performance at impact velocities from 2000 fps down to under 1000 fps with a sample size of over 3 dozen. The wide range of performance is one thing I like about the bullet. Others will need to chime in how it performs over 2000 fps, I haven't gotten that chance yet.

I feel the 195 barnes performs much more consistantly on deer than the sst so I use the barnes.

If you are shooting sabotless, sizing of .451 and 452 bullets with a .449 or .4495 sizing die would be necessary and then use file to knurl to size
