I planed another deer hunting day with rossman40.I had a place on some privet property we could go deer hunting.I had 2 ladder stand put up one was enclosed the other was open to the weather it was snowing out.We had a little snow on the ground about 1inch or so.I ask rossman40 which one he wanted to go to they both are hots spots he took the enclosed.I took the open one and boy did it pay off.I started seeing deer about 3:30.Here were it got fun.I had to set and watch these deer come out on someone else is property.I had to watch them in the field. I was not sure if they was going to come my way or not.I seen 7 bucks and 11 does when they first come out.I used my ranged finder on them they was 207yrd this was not on the land i was aloud to hunt so.I did not shoot.I waited 45min watching.I was getting really pump up.I seen two nice buck one one was 10 point the other was 9 point the 10 point was a little wider. Finally all the deer was heading right at me.I was WOW they started coming in the woods they was about 60yrd in front of me.I had to let 15 deer go be fore the buck started coming in the wood.I lost track of the 10 pointer some were.I was gonna Waite on him.I was not sure were he went.I took the 9 pointer The shot was 60yrds and the load was a 195 red hots deer run about 50 yrds.Rossman40 seen a few.I don't think he was able to get a shot off. Sorry about the picture.I am having trouble cropping them my other camera messed up.

Shooter
Now that smiles says it all. Congrats on a 9-pointer and you deserve it after making all the right calls. Also enjoyed the short but informative narration of your hunt that allowed me to follow how it played out.
Again Congrats.

Congratulations. Nice hunting. No two hunts are ever exactly the same. That is one of many reasons it is such a great sport.

Atta Boy shooter. Nice ending to a great hunt. Every time we get into our stands we don't know what to expect. There are days when expectations end in a bust and then there are days where you can put a happy ending to the story.

Shooter's got him a pretty good spot there! Definitely a deer haven! The stand I was in had a power line cut on the left and about 30yds in from a field on the right and bottom woods to the front. I seen a medium doe heading Shooter's way about 15 minutes before he shot and that is what I thought he shot at until a herd of about 8-10 came thru the trees. They were in full alert mode doing a bounding overwatch about 30-40 yards at a time. They were just far enough back in the woods that I would have a tough "thread the needle" shot but they were heading for the power line cut so I waited. They stopped at the power line cut and I was waiting for them to go into the cut but they just waited for like 10 minutes and then went back pretty much the way they came. I guess they figured trying to cross the power line cut was not the wisest thing to do. It probly wasn't because I was ready to drop the hammer on one as soon as they entered the cut.
Still a decent evening in the woods. Shooter got him a nice buck for the year. I was at the airport heading south about 6 hours later.
