Does anyone on the board own one of these rifles and if so can you tell me what you like and dislike about it , accuracy, favorite pet loads, etc? Also which breech plug are you using the FPJ or NFPJ with what brand primer?
What scope, bases, rings do you have mounted on it, also scope ring height
Thinking about maybe trying to locate one if they are accurate.
Thanks, Pocampo

They are great guns - but they are heavy - just keep that in mind...

Sabotloader,
I have also heard mention of the wt issue before. I think the gun weighs 8#6oz empty and with a scope, rings, bases and a powder charge sabot and bullet she will probably go 10# easy.
I was primarily looking at hunting out of a blind and not much carrying.
I would like to hear the pros and cons from other Knight owners. I think it is the same gun as the disc extreme with some differences in the breech plug and the way the barrel attaches to the stock and the stock itself.
I was told by Knight that you can put a regular .50 cal disc extreme barrel on the LRH, but it lacks the second screw behind the trigger guard and something different about the barrel lug area attachment.

If you don't need open sights, the Disc Elite is a better choice.

Grouse,
can you give me your specifics as to why you think the Disc Elite is better than the Disc XT Long Range Hunter.
I'm confused as I thought the Long Range Hunter was basically the same gun with some accuracy mods.
According to Toby Bridges it is a very accurate ML and his personal favorite.

I own 2 Master Hunter Disc Extremes with thumbhold stocks. I bought these several years ago for $250. They are very similar. Also, I purchased the 209 Conversion for when I run out of the red caps. I own an Omega and 2 Savage MLII. I'll be honest and say the Savage is my favorite gun because it shoots smokeless powder. However, with Buckhorn 209 I have decided to shoot these too. These guns are tack drivers for muzzleloaders. They will shoot 1-1/2 groups at 100 Yards and drive a 250 grain Hornady XTP over 200 FPS. I honestly think this is the most accurate gun I own. They have the green mountain barrels, which are as close to custom as you will get.... great gun
