You know I was just going to post the same question, I first was in the smokeless section and then thought this would be the better site and you had already done so. Same minds I guess. I wondered too, I had heard about ice there and it is not like them not to post nearly daily. I guess if they have power issues they cannot respond themselves, anybody else from AR know anything about this for the rest of us. Kind of like not hearing from family.

I suspect they will be emerging from their frozen caves soon. Some of that area was really badly hit by the storm and there are estimates that some may be without power for up to two weeks.

Ben did post he would be fine with no power, provided they did not have a medical emergency.

I just got a PM from sw. He is working off a generator. Broken trees and electric lines down everywhere. It could be weeks before everybody gets restored. A real mess.

That is just about what I suspected. Had the same thing happen here in 2000. We got power back in about 5 days, some went for nearly two weeks. Not a lot of fun, but quite survivable, especially with a generator.

I'm ok with a generator now. Hopefully, I can post some pictures tomorrow. It's kind of good for us to go thru things like this. Re-orients priorities for many, etc. BUT our economy is already doing that for many : I'm one of them.

It has been one mell of a hess but since our town was dead before the storm it has brought a bit of life back to it. Many has turned out to watch the big trucks with the portable deer stands that go waay up high. Seriously, we are really blessed to have the energy people coming in from other states to help us get back to normal. Sometimes we take for granted the good in our neighbors. It is sooooo great to live in America. Ozark

glad to hear Ben and Steve will make it through this storm- when it went through here a couple years ago we took in a couple other families in our house- . my neighbor was lamenting at the start about food and cooking and surviving without electric till I gave him a DUH look- he asked what? I reminded him that we both hunt/fish/camp...... and have all the needed supplies and then some....Water in the hot water tanks, food in the freezer/ fridge, we both use our gas grills all winter long- even shoveling a path in the snow to use the grill in the winter....coleman lanterns gave us light that week- our guests enjoyed the food- ribs, venison, ect cooked on the grill was a treat and wanted to do it again- without the icestorm-- and it was a change not to have a TV or computer to spend time staring at... ;D Rick
