I am new to inline's and I'm hoping someone can help me w/ my accuracy issue. I own a Traditions Evolution LD in .45 cal. w/ a 1 in 20" twist barrel. I just returned from an extremely disappointing trip to the range. My loads consisted of both loose and pellet 777 using both Fed. & CCI 209 primers. My bullet was a 200 gn. Hornady SST. My rifle will not group. It was so bad that I even checked my bases and rings thinking something was loose. It was very careful measuring my powder and I cleaned the rifle after every 3 shots. I was shooting off a sand bagged bench. I am an experienced hunter and marksman so I'm sure is was not operator error. I am hoping somebody w/ some experience can diagnose my problem. Is anybody out there shooting the same rifle or a similar set-up?

a few questions. how far where you shooting? if you are having troubles try starting at 25 yards and go out. how loose or tight is the fit of the bullet sabot combo? adn the biggie what scope you have mounted on it. it could be a bad scope.

I boresighted the gun off the sandbags @ 25 yds. & it shot about a 6" group! My scope is a Leupold VXII 2-7 X 33. I am new to inlines but fairly experienced w/ patch & ball muzzleloaders. The sabot/bullet fit felt similar to a patch & ball load best I can remember. It's probably been about 15 years since those days. Do I need tyo consider a different bullet?

The bullet and sabot combination should be very snug, say 30-40 pounds of pressure to load bullet. If this is a new gun, did you scrub the bore good to remove the barrel protectant? When cleaning I like to make sure there is no oil residue left in the barrel. I usually dry swab after any oil has been used until the patch shows no moisture. Then foul the barrel with one shot before shooting for groups.

if the gun has open sights use them @ 25 yards and see how they group. if still 6" then you may need to try some thing different.
