I normally shoot sabots in my 50 cal. White Model 97, but found an old box of 'No Excuses' 460 gr. conicals with badly oxidized (if that's what it is) lube in the four lube grooves on each bullet. The stuff flakes off a small bit, but is rock-hard after that. I'd like to get this old lube out of the grooves so I can relube and shoot them. Any ideas on how I can do that?

If it were me I'd first try placing them in an old pan and covering them in boiling water for a few minutes. It sounds like it may be a paraffin based lube. Then brush it off with an old toothbrush. If that won't do it try some acetone. Good luck!
