Tar12
I am impressed and congrats on such a consecutive run. That translates to precise shooting and quick reloading even at short yardage to eliminate any tracking work. You definitely have your work cut out for topping the freezer.
If you would have shot two more to bring the tally to 4 I would have said times four I adore. Never figured on 5 or even thought about it so no response for that one. ;D

Tar12: Ran out of ammo, how can that be? I heard you have in your possession over half the annual run of Barnes originals. Good shooting. Your kids won't go hungry this winter.

Ed, Sometimes the stars are lined up just right. This is not a personal best by any means.Thats stands at 5 out of a group of 7. ;D We shoot so many and stop for the year.I sent "Q" a text as to what was up.He replied are you kidding?Nope,I am not.He replied "I guess I got some skinning to do!" LOL! love that boy!
Dave, You can legally kill over 300 deer in the State of Indiana each year.I obvisiouly leave plenty for seed each year. ;D
Jims, I had left my extra stash in the truck,I know, that is a rookie mistake ;D Smack me!

"Q" football team is undefeated and they are 1 game away from playing in Indianapolis in the Lucas Oil Stadium for the State Championship, regardless of what happens there he will go straight into wrestling mode.both of these endeavors leave him only 1.5 days a week to deer hunt. I hope everything works out for him this year.Last year he killed a very nice buck and 2 does.Shania on the other hand will have plenty of time in the woods.I will focus all of my time on her now and see if we can double again! ;D

Great going so far tar12. I am sure we will be hearing of more success when your daughter picks up the slack. I sure enjoyed meeting you and Q during your short visit. How are the puppies doing. Someone once corrected me when I used the term pups. He told me pups were baby seals and that I was miscalling puppies pups. I whipped out my pistol and cocked it before deciding that maybe murder wasn't called for. LOL

Rick you ought to see if your insurance provider will give you a price break for shooting all those deer. That many less to collide with cars. ;D Sounds like your season is off to a good start.

Funny you mention that...The Clough Tribe joined a small butchering club where you pay $100 a year to use the facilities ALL memebers show up to help evreyone butcher their deer.We knocked 4 of our deer out in 2.5 hours flat last night! Anyway,on the return trip home we had a doe bust out the corn and I could not avoid her in time. The deer gods are smiling!I was driving my 3/4 ton dodge.Zero damage...

After killing two bucks with my vehicles I have become as alert for them during prime moving time as they are me during prime hunting time. A close aquaintance of mine was killed when a eight point buck came through his pickup windshield, out the back window knocking his four wheeler out of his truck and dying while in the bed of his PU. It broke his neck and he died instantly. I know this sounds a bit unreal but a word to the wise: keep a close lookout for them. There is no way to avoid them unless you spot them in advance. The two I hit were seen less than three seconds before colliding with my vehicles. No time to react.

We had a lady killed on I75 just North of here when a deer ran in front of the vehicle, jumped and came through the passenger side windshield. She was killed. I thought about that just last weekend when a large doe ran right in front of me in the dark just when I was at the corner of my hunting lease about to turn off the highway.

Congrats on the TRIPLE tar! I've done it with a shotgun but not with a ML. Something to "shoot for" I guess. ;D Hopefully I can avoid getting any on the road though...

Congrats on the TRIPLE tar! I've done it with a shotgun but not with a ML. Something to "shoot for" I guess. ;D Hopefully I can avoid getting any on the road though... This little honey hole is a large bowl shaped depression in a field.I shoot doubles there every year, one year I got 5 there.I shoot the lead doe or the farthest one away first.Sometimes they just stand there trying to figure out where the shot came from.I always have everything laid out when I hunt this spot as the shooting can be fast and furious ;D

Tar12: In my part of Ohio until last year it would have taken me 300 years to get 300 deer, only one per year. Now up to two IF you take one with a bow first, still only 1 with a firearm. I do not know if I will live long enough to get 300 at our rate or in any rate. Good hunting.

Just one Steve, and plenty of BOs,taking more would be cheating! ;D We only shoot what we will consume in a years time,if we are fortunate enough with our schedules and if the deer gods are smiling upon us we donate to local food banks. If I had free reign during our season its hard telling what I would be capable of!
