I am new to this board, just found it doing a search. I have a ton of questions, I know very little about muzzleloaders, been shooting and owned guns since 1959, but never a coal burner. I got a call the other day,a friend had taken an unfired NIB Knight Long Range Hunter in trade. He called me to see if I wanted it, long story short, I got it in box with all acc. for $200.00. Well, the more I find out the more I am interested. Please keep in mind a lot of my questions will seem very dumb as I am new to this. I found out Knight no longer makes guns. The gun came with 2 breechplugs, one for use with the red primer jackets and one for bare primers. Would it be wise to stock up on the red jackets? I see they are still for sale on Knights web site. I am also very interested in using Blackhorn 209 powder since no soap and water needed for clean up. I have been reading on this powder primarily since I got the gun. I bought a clear-vu TC powder measure, what type of funnel do you recommend to pour the powder into the measure?
I guess a list of things I might need to get started would answer a lot of my questions. I will try not to make a pain of myself, but any and all suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks macchi

I use a spout/cap made by Hodgdon/Pyrodex.You'll find it on a peg in the Muzzleloader accessory isle with the rest of the accoutrements for muzzleloading. It is the same thread as Pyrodex,Tripple 7,and BH 209.The spout is small enough that you won't need a funnel. Most guys have gone to the bare primer nipple in their Knights.Good Hunting!

Get some bullets, sabots, primer and powder and your ready to go. Some guys like to swab between shots and some don't, choice is yours.
If you have any questions just ask away. There is a very good bunch of guys on here that will gladly answer your questions. Mike
