What is everyone using for a sabot, bullett, powder combination with this scope and what results are you having. I have an Omega 50 cal with the Nikon Omega scope on it. The gun really likes the 250 xtp wrapped in a MMP short black sabot over 110 grains of BH 209 at 100 yards. I have not tried the scope any further than that as of now. I would like to take full advantage of the recticle in the future. Not probably in any hunting situations as I seldom have oppurtunities in excess of 100 yards. I have been told the XTP may not be ideal for long range shots? Thanks Joe

What you have been told and reality are two different things. The XTP will do fine out to 200yards with no problem. Just shoot the load and let it tell you.

That is my intention to try that bullett, but looking for suggestions on other projectiles used in similiar situations. Omega, bdc recticle, bh 209 etc.

Here is some input from the bench. The xtp's are great performers out to 200 yds on deer, Another combo that has shot amazingly well is the 250 grain Barnes Expander with a harvester sb H5045 sabot. With 777 or blackhorn 209 we have shot 6 different omega's all grouping 1 inch or less at 100 yds. My sons s/s laminate omega will shoot the Barnes bullets 1/2 moa with 2 777 pellets. Performance on deer is superb .
