Newfoundland moose taken a couple of weeks ago by yours truley, 100yd shot with a 338-378, yeah, could of smoked him with a ML, if I'd let him keep coming, a spear would've worked. 3 1/2 mile pack back to the boat, took two trips and most of the next morning, still feeling those pack straps cutting thru my shoulders.

Al
Congratulations on a nice young tender bull for the table and barbecue.
Yeah the work begins once such an animal is down. Bet you slept like a baby once the recovery chore was done. ;D Many don’t realize how much work there is involved but the rewards are well worth the effort.
Again congrats on a successful hunt.

Congratulations, that has to be exciting hunting. When I see these animal pictures I always think of what happens when a car collides with them. I suppose the body would about meet the height of a windshield. Wow, that is scary. Nice kill.

There was some interview on NPR a while ago that there is about one death per 10,000 deer-car accidents. When talking about moose-car accidents just in Maine there were like 22 fatalities in like 600 accidents over the last 10 years. Supposedly in Alaska the odds are much higher that you will get killed in a moose-car accident then by a bear attack. The articles center was New England's driver education to "brake for moose, it could save your life". Alaska has a similar program.
