I recently purchased a Knight Disc Extreme in 45cal. Does anyone have any suggested loads to try first? Also does this rifle use the red or orange discs? I believe it is the red but I'm not sure.
Thanks-Buddy

The Extreme uses the red jackets or you can get a NFPJ kit that will just use a bare primer. Mine likes the 200gr shockwave in the knight tan sabot over 110 grains of BH209.

Tarheel
Since it is a Extreme, It has got to be red plastic jackets...
I am kinds new to the 45 world myself but I have settled on shooting 110 grain T7-2f and a Lehigh .40/200 HP in a Harvester light tan sabot.
I would also say that the Lehigh is a bit long for the 1/30 twist Knight, but they also make a 185 which will shoot really well.
If you are looking for a good inexpensive bullet to shot which will handle any deer harvest might look at the Hornady .40/200 XTP in a Harvester light tan.

Tarhell, I also have a Knight Disc Ex. I've had great success with Hornady 200gr. SST and also Powerbelt 195gr. bullets. Winchester BP209 primers, Jim Schocky Gold (FFF) loose powder only for me. It goes off every time, even with temps down around - 0 degrees. Late season in Wisconsin can get pretty cold. With powder start with 95gr. and work upward 5gr. at a time. Have fun and shoot alot.

I've had a 45 cal Disc Rifle ever since they first came out !
In mine I use the Hornady 200 grain SST pushed by 110 grains of Hornady Triple 7 FFFg granulated powder (no pellets) . And I set it off with CCI 209M primers !
I've used this load for awhile now and killed a fair number of deer with it out to about 135 yards with very good results !
