From left to right: 1: Hornady .257 75gr Hollow Point 2. Knight .400 150gr BX (never really made it to market...bought on one of their auctions) 3. Traditions 180gr BX 4. Barnes 195gr BX (shown for comparison) 5. Alco 250gr All Copper 6. Alco 275gr All Copper The one most impressive to me as far as ML has been the Alco's. Here's one retrieved from a third water-filled cheese ball jug 250gr @ 2700fps, 50yds: As you can see above, the slit from the the hollow point goes down past the bearing surface of the Alco's. What cannot be seen is that the hollow point goes down to where the boat tail begins. Make no mistake, these were deer slayers! I asked the guy why he discontinued them and he said they were not selling well and that perhaps he should have advertised them....DUH! One guy sold some to me stating that he would consistently get a flyer in every 5-shot group. I have not had that problem. Perhaps because I full form and he shot them as land riders?

If you need some lighter weight .257s I have an assortment I would part with. Let me know if you want me to inventory.

This is what I hope to find on this board seeing something new to me. Those 250 all cooper Alco bullets are one of the best bullet responses I have seen. Even though discontinued It was nice to learn about them. Thanks for sharing this info.

Thanks for the offer, but I have plenty .257's, more than I'll probably ever shoot. Just doing a bit of lamenting here. Sad for me to see some really good bullets going by the way-side, especially the Alco's. As for the Hornady 75gr HP's, they took more prairie dogs in SW Nebraska than I could count. The winds there in PD towns blew 55gr bullets out of .22-250's all over the place. Got a .25-06 and it was much, much easier to dope the wind. Tipped 75gr bullets have a little better B.C. but any prairie dog out to 300yds was very lucky if I missed!
