Hey Guys,
My son recently purchased a set of dies for his 30-06, he said it's just too hard to find ammo and wants to reload. The only powder that I have in any volume is IMR-4320 and am looking for a good deer load with 150 gr. bullets. any of you reloaders have a load with this powder and bullet that works for you I'm very interested. Thanks for any help. BOB

Bob,
Definitely get a few reloading manuals as a first step. Then corroborate any info you get here with published data. You absolutely need to do this before taking any of our recommendations. Typo's and other errors can cause problems and potential safety issues. With this cartridge and bullet weight you have tons of published data to paw thru.
Just my 2 cents!

Reloader22, I absolutely agree with your advise, I would be very wary of taking someone's word for a safe load without reviewing my 2 loading manuals. What I am looking for is a shortcut to an accurate load without having to do ton of load testing, one load at a time. Maybe no sure-fire shortcut exists but I had to ask, maybe it's there, you never know. Good luck to you. BOB

go to hogdon.com to there reloading data. They do have a couple of loads with the 4320 powders (plus a lot more with other powders.

Wish I had a supply of IMR 4320!! Great powder in my 358 Win and 257 Roberts AI. I'm confident it would work well in a 30-06. As you stated checking a couple of manuals is a must. I find that 80% case capacity of published powder is generally a good load. In my Serria manuals, their accuracy load is a great place to start load development.
