Winter is passing slowly with plenty of snow this year. I’m trying to wait patiently for range time again. In the interim and trying to keep busy I’ve worked on my new approach to recording data. Here I hope to reduce paper work for recording pertinent data. I feel this will be a real asset for saving and sharing data. In other words, say less and produce more info, chuckle.
For now, it’s a waiting game. In the mean time I enjoy reading and learning more about sabot-less loads. This doesn’t mean I’ve taken a real interest of abandoning using sabots or going to another caliber but feel I should acquire some knowledge in this area. What I find interesting is the importance of obturation in a sabot-less load. In some cases, additional steps are necessary to assist obturation.
Hopefully an early Spring will arrive and I can continue exploring different loads in my own direction. This is what I like about SML because there’s always something new to learn.

Spring will be here before you know it. I'm so far behind on my winter chores I might wait until next winter lol!

Hey Bill
The one thing about chores is that they never disappear and are always waiting for you, chuckle. Normally I try to save a project for winter months to pass time when movement is limited. This year designated projects are NADA. I find if one occupies their mind there’s less chance of anxiety setting in. For now I find myself spending more time on my computer trying to learn new things just to pass time while my heart looks forward to the arrival of Spring.

I fall down the computer rabbit hole quite often.

Today was not my day as I took a deeper financial nose dive down the computer rabbit hole. Printer/scanner went on the fritz and I need it for work as well as personal use. With this pandemic there seems to be a lot more reduced sales going on and lucked into not a bad deal for printer/scanner. The old one has been with me since the days of XP so I really can’t complain except for bad timing, chuckle. After a bit of struggle with downloading the necessary program I’m up and running again. The real kicker is having to learn about all the new bells and whistles that come with it. Okay I’ll see what new tunes these bells and whistles can play, chuckle.

Well, I almost have all the bugs out of my new printer/scanner. Now one issue I had to correct with the scanner. All scanning was done resulting with PDF file format. My previous scanner produced jpeg files that I could then use other programs to tailor my photos. I eventually found a free app that would reformat my PDF files into jpeg. Just an extra step to deal with, chuckle. Okay that absorbed some time while waiting for Spring. My project list is still empty. With time still on my hands I did a little research on Hornady bullets. The new thing is using an interlocking ring and cannelure to reduce the shrapnel affect. Supposedly the cannelure ring acts like a secondary interlock. If that’s true then 2 cannelures should closely reproduce the same results. My curiosity got the better of me to see a double cannelure on a knurled bullet, chuckle.
