Has anyone here done penetration/expansion tests at Savage ML velocities? Into wet paper/water jugs?

When I owned my Savage this was the most accurate round out of it. I shot 5-6 deer with it all double lung shots behind the shoulder, no expansion but deer did not go far.

I shot a bunch of them and pushed them pretty hard...I shot close to 80 deer with them and not once did I ever recover one..on deer they do not expand very much at all..none survived.

As I recall on the old board there were some threads about milk jugs, wet phone books, ballistic gel, etc. I know there was impressive penetration, but I could not quote a value. I do know that of all the deer that I have shot with a 300 grain 0.458 bullet only two did not exit. Those two were shot straight on in the brisket and I didn't want to search busted guts for the bullet.

Has anyone here done penetration/expansion tests at Savage ML velocities? Into wet paper/water jugs? I did a test .Shot through big cow bone into wet news paper. It penetrated well and mushroomed. That said, deer are not news paper. And I have recovered one 300 yds from where it exited. It's a long story. It went through the deer's neck at 50 yds and no it did not expand.
