Looking for recommended powders to try for 300 grain bullet. 2700vel. Or less. In 26" brux I don't want to break my shoulder. What are the basic pros and cons of the powder example: clean burning

I am not sure what caliber etc. you are shooting but as far as clean burning powders N110 and N120 in the right applications have always burned quite cleanly for me.

H-4198 is hard to beat. If you are recoil shy like me I shoot the 275 gr. bullets and have shot several deer with H-4198 and the Pittman 275gr. Accumax bullet at over 400 yds.

Totally agree about the 275gr bullets. Unless one is after something the size of moose or needing to shoot over 500yds, nothing heavier is needed. I've even DRT'd three deer with 150gr bullets. 250gr bullets are even more than adequate in most instances and can easily be shot to 2800fps without breaking a shoulder. From way back, I've been a duplex shooter, so cannot be of much help there, but do know that VV N120 shoots very clean. VV N110 does as well, but I certainly would not use that powder with 300gr bullets with anything but light loads.

65gr of h4198 and a 275gr accumax was 2650 from my conversion. 80gr of h322 in my 25in Brux with a 300 aeromax was about 2775. Unless your rifle has a brake you will know both of those went off when pulling the trigger. If I had 4198 that is what I would start with.
