For me one of the hardest events in life is the loss of an individual who has touched my life in some way. There now feels part of my life has been taken away also leaving a void. We often try to fill this void with memories as if trying to hang onto an individual who’s gone from this world. The memories provide some temporary comfort and we then try to grab onto things that say the individual was recently here. Soon we have to accept the reality an individual is gone.
It’s said death is a part of life but accepting that is not always easy. Many of us handle death differently but we all have to deal with it many times in our life. On this board we have lost some good men over the years who possessed a quality of giving a lot and asking for little or nothing in return. Our recent lost is Edge that not only possessed the previous mentioned quality but found him to be a unique individual. I will miss him.

Well said ET. Circle of life. It doesn't matter if people or pets. Only time heals. Humans are unique in dealing with this. Edge was always on the "edge" of things we all talk about. It didn't have to be ML specific. He had great allies and a few "enemies" but always held his ground and kept the debate alive with his positions as he believed in them. We will all die one day. Hopefully having impacted many people along the way. Hopefully missed and grieved over. Says a lot about a person when they are grieved over. They meant something special and the void is real.
I would vote to name a forum after him as was done for Ozark many years ago. Maybe Ozark and Edge's back porch. Ozark and Edge are probably having a beer right now.
I changed my name here a long time ago after some bad times with Edge. I always respected him since he was the man here on the board. I rejoined under a new name to start fresh and not muddy the waters and still be a voice without muddying the waters or having disagreements in public. The board is a great one and I wanted to still be here. Edge was quite the pioneer and in the early days and was great in diagramming things like crazy sabots and breech plug designs. He had very good insights in many things even when you disagreed with him. Could go on and on here. I send all my greatest condolences to his family and friends. The board lost a corner stone.

Reloader22
Tonight, is a solemn period with going over some memories of past events related to this Board. There have been other members like RB, TGinPA, and Ozark to mention a few but Edge stands out from the rest because of the individual contributions he made. I hold all these individuals with high esteem and consider them the Pioneering Founders on this Board. Don’t get me wrong as I hold others who have made contributions with high respect and their legacy still continues as they are still with us. A part of Edge resides in my 10ML-II called a recessed BP. This I will carry with me for a long time.
My condolences go out to Edge’s family and hope God will provide the comfort and strength during this time of loss.
Reloader22 (Wilms)thanks for sharing that post that says a lot. Soon it will be time to move on in the tradition of our Founders and continue to stride with our SML’S.
