I’m looking for everyone’s favorite bullet/loads for knight mountaineer 45 1-20 twist. I’m interested in full bore .451 bullets and also sabot bullets. Thanks in advance guys.

I have zero experience casting bullets but it is interesting. I’ve shot cast out of my 54 cal but that’s it.

Yes by weight, I weigh everything, best results, you can tweak it either way, some like 70 gr weighed some shoot 62 what ever ur gun likes and ur shoulder. The formula is volume x.70 gives you the grain weight

Fury 300gr ST2P Arrowhead 300gr XLD Pittman Accumax 275 or 300gr. Will the arrowhead and Pittman expand for me? I ask because I seen they have what appears to be an aluminum tip. Thank you for your input.

Other than shooting extremely accurate at target for me, I can't give a known fact answer for the XLD's with just 120grs VOLUME on say a whitetail. The best answer for that would be to contact Luke at Arrowhead and ask.
As for the Pittman, they used to be made with the thinner .015" jacket if requested. I have quite a few 275's and 300 Accumax. You will likely have to contact them and ask for the thinner jackets. IIRC it was in 2016 that the bullet won the NMLRA championship at Friendship, IN.
For the Fury, make sure you get the bullets for black powder rifles and not SML. They put the hammer on whitetails.
Some have outstanding results with 120grs VOLUME of BH209 and the Parker BE's.

The Parker BE is super easy to get to shoot at BH209 pressures and speeds but it can be a bit fragile too. Lead conicals with no more than 80gr by volume are another excellent choice and far cheaper to shoot. 70grV and a 345gr Gould HP (cast in pure or 40-1 lead) is cheap and easy on the shoulder. Its will kill any whitetail without a problem within a reasonable distance. That load is right around 1400fps MV and still has over 1000fpe at 100 yards.

I emailed Dennis at fury yesterday and he suggested I get the 45 stb if I want to shoot bullet to bore or the 40cal star tip if I want to shoot sabot.

I’m going to order some as soon as I get a swing lock die.

For me, they shot a single hole with 120grs BH209.

Well that sounds great! Thank you for the info. The stb look like a decent bullet and they are bonded so they should be tough. Have you tried the 45 plastic star tips?
