During the interim of PT testing because of Winter I’ve had time for preparation and organizing for when I can continue. The one thing I want to observe closer is the Rise Time as I believe this shows the burn efficiency of the powder. Per given load the faster the Rise Time the more powder being initially consumed to produce faster pressure rise.
From my perspective there are 3-factors in play here: -the strength of the ignition source -how tight the load fit is -the volumetric space that the powder is initially ignited in
In my case I can adjust all 3 factors with my 10ML-II and monitor what transpires. With the additional info I include with my trace results I hope to get a better insight of the factors. My goal will be to find the most efficient loads for my 10ML-II per bullet weight. Another consideration with a load that has a reasonable fast Rise Time it might not be as easily affected by colder temps. A simpler way to describe this is the stronger the ignition the faster the powder burns and the softer the ignition the slower the powder burns. This is seen through the Rise Time in a trace. Also keep in mind that with a slower Rise Time peak pressure occurs further down the bore. Whether this is detrimental or not I don’t know. Still much to learn.

Anxious to hear your answers :-) I'm anxious to see the answers (results). The one problem that concerns me is range access this Spring. Because the Covid pandemic has gotten so bad here that the province is on lock down until further notice. Sometimes I wish I lived in the country and had my own range setup.
