My son just bought a CVA Accura LR TH . He thought it was a 45 caliber . A Hornady .452 slides down the barrel about half way . It goes down the rest of the way with only a slight push of the ramrod leaving only scratches on the bullet. What bullet it this gun supposed to take ? Is this barrel only for Powerbelts and sabots ? Thanks for any insight on this. Tom

Sounds like CVA continues to have 'issues' with their 45 cal barrels.....even the muzzleloader barrels!

Fury makes a bullet for the CVA MLs...its a .453. They are known to run large. Probably either gunna need knurled up .452s or a adjustable sizing die with the .453s

He shot a Hornady tss .40 cal bullet 200 gr. I purchased a .45 rifle that was set up to shoot 0.40 in Harvester light blue sabots and it uses a 0.060 veggie wad. My full form .458 bullets shoot better with a 0.060 veggie wad or a wool wad. Your mileage may vary.

He is going to try and send it back today . He is not happy with it . He was hoping to get a long range shooter , 300 yard gun. We had even bought a bullet sizer in anticipation of this gun using the same bullet as his 450 bushmaster . He killed a nice buck at 325 yards with it this year . What I think he got was a blunderbuss.
