Happy Sunday,
I'm reading since many months about smokeless rifles and already started my own project over in Czech Republic.
I'm wondering, if there are other manufacturers offering breech block mechanisms like Tom built back in the day on his swinglocks. Already know that he apparently stopped the rifle business.
Additionally wondering, if there are lot of owners around using a Swinglock. Searching on the web, you'll find only few posts about these rifles.
Bye, Ziva

I also heard he is not currently making smokeless muzzleloaders. Unfortunately I cannot help you with the rest of your questions. Unsure how many Swinglocks were made so then unsure how many posters there would be. Hope you get your information.

I'm not familiar with the Swinglock muzzle loader. The only other falling block design I'm aware of is the Ruger #1 that can be converted.

I have a .243 Ruger No. 1 that was converted to a .45 SML by SMI. I added different wood but I have the old barrel and wood. Shoots well, I think it is a Douglas barrel.

Sorry about the delay in responding. On some home projects. The same uses Fed 209a shotgun primers. Breech plug and work by SMI, Smokeless Muzzleloading Inc out of Indiana. The barrel has a radial muzzlebrake in the barrel itself, not a screw off. Shoots well and reliable ignition. Spent primers are a bit difficult to remove however. Hope that helps.

Many members have seen this in the past so they can disregard. I just did not remember or know how to tell you where those photos were so I had to post new ones. Hope this helps. The barrel and action have some type of coating on it. Held up well except around the brake holes where it was blasted or eroded off. With my original stock, barrel etc. I could go back except for the receiver would have to be redone. I acquired two 45-70 Ruger No. 1 barrels that I once thought about putting on but the "timing" of the barrels might not work like the original .243 would.
