Well, I had one! I ended up selling the Stryker on ebay. It was a bit heavy and very wide. Got a great price so I am back looking Mike, Horton came out with another version of the Recon called the Vision. Pretty close on the specs but under $700 There is another very similar xbow called the Scorpyd. It has a longer draw but only 125 lb weight and shoots around 370 fps. It is a bit pricey...midway between the Vision and the Recon. www.scorpyd.com/store.htmledge.

That is a pretty wild looking contraption! I have shot the Recon and although not the fastest crossbow on the planet was very smooth and quiet for a crossbow. I didn't know that Horton had a VISION.

I think that they just started shipping within the last month. www.crossbow.com/vision175crossbowedge. PS IMO, moving the weight back over the stock instead of at the end makes a lot of sense!

I agree......also a 19" width makes a lot of sense if you hunt in a tree stand. The Recon that I shot at an indoor range was so smooth that I hardly realized that I had pulled the trigger and made a much deeper sound at release than any crossbow that I have experienced. However the Recon is rather heavy so that could have something to do with it. The price was also heavy. I previously owned the Horton Supermax which was fast but not very accurate at all. This Vision might be just what Horton needs to get back on track to compete in the fast moving crossbow market. Doug

boy wouldn't it hurt if them limbs broke lot of force coming at ya? looks like a nice xbow though wouldn't mind one but my old ten point shoots great 300 feet per second cant seem to make myself give in with over 1000.00 to go another 30 or 40 fps faster maybe someday if you get it edge let us know how it is is that ist one the slingshot style one? if not ill try to find it it is way cool and light. kevin.k

I like the reverse draw principle. Even though I have a very fast x-bow, I feel that smoothness, lack of hand-shock, accuracy, all are more impt than speed. I sighted in a very nice 10-pt(actually Hunter) for an older gentleman the other day. 425g arrows @ 270'/sec - slow by today's standards; yet, it is very, very accurate, quiet, and certainly deadly out to 60 yds. Speed isn't everything, not the most impt.
