Hopefully Thursday I am going to test some loads in my factory Savage 10MLII one being sabotless. If for some reason she doesn't preform well I saw on Arrowhead site they sell prefit barrels for Savage and was wondering what I would need along with the barrel to convert my factory 50cal Savage to a 45..

The PacNor .45 cal. barrel from Luke was the best thing I ever did for one of my MLIIs . Five different powders of various charges , five different bullets , four different sabots , and a return to Savage could only produce 1.75" groups at 100 yards . With the PacNor barrel one test group with Barnes 195 grain bullet went .980" because of a flyer . They usually shoot under .800" . Six groups with Hornady 200 grain SSTs in the Blue Harvester Sabot and 60 grains of H4198 averaged .680" at 100 yards . The speed is just over 2450 FPS . No Whitetail is safe in Halifax County ! Do you plan on doing the installation yourself, Tar? If so, you will need a barrel nut wrench and preferably a barrel vice. The trained gorilla that Savage used to install the barrels got the nuts waaaaay more tight than needed!
Then there are other extras if you plan to shoot sabotless, such as bullet dies, etc.
It may be overkill, but on RB's recommendation, I got trued barrel nut and recoil lug.

While i think the Brux is a better barrel, the Pacnor 45 is a great sabot shooter. Mine is a the super match version and its a tight .450 on the lands. I would get Lukes plug and the improved bolt nose to get more primer in the primer pocket. About my favorite load is 58gr of N120 and a 200gr SST for pure accuracy and speed. It will smoke 4198 in speed.
