Have been out of the game for sometime and trying to ease back into it.
Wondering if anyone has experience with this bullet the 250 Monoflex by Hornady. Thoughts and comments on this bullet are also appreciated.

Are you shooting .50 or .45?
A few years ago, I got a box and attempted to full form size one. It was so hard I barely got it through the die, and the setting was at "0". Being fearful it would do damage to the die, I went no further.

First thanks for your response. Secondly I should have been more specific with info. I'm still old school with 50cal and sabot. Have gone from 250SST that shot great with the hard nose but really fragmented. Next came the 250 Flex-tip that shot fair but still broke up in larger pieces. Both above killed deer quickly with a boiler room shot. So far I haven't hit solid bone yet before entering chest but should that happen I would like to have a bullet that I feel confident will plow through bone into the vitals. I feel this bullet 250 Monoflex is the ticket I might be looking for. www.hornady.com/muzzleloading/monoflex-ml#!/

Have shot them at 2300 fps, they open up like a flower petal similar to the Barnes TEZ, But with 9 sharp pedals.

A buddy of mine shoots them out of his Omega. He said they are devastating on deer. They smash thru bone and typically give an exit hole for him. He only uses 100 gr (volume) of BH209.

I've got a pack of about 50 or so that are the old SST's I bought from Carlos 4 or 5 years ago.
