I wonder if he would be interested in passing along his ultimate slam that he's been playing with, He won't have any use for it now

I am sure he is courting them as they are the only bigger American Co. left, but I am not sure that they have 'hired' him. They are pretty much down also.
The picture of the Omega on the lead screen seems kinda odd if TC were to sponsor him... Seems TC would have rather he used a Bone Collector or top of the line Endevor. He has had that Omega for several years now. It is in several of his articles.
Besides I was thinking that TC is trying to put the Omega to bed as old and obsolescent...

You will see at the bottom of the page they are one of his sponsors. That old Omega has nothing to do with it.

There is a difference between being a sponsor and hiring. TB was a professional factory representative many moons ago. At one time he had 4 different bullet makers as sponsors and according to him they all made the best bullet in the world. His sponsorship from what I was told is a set monthly amount (with a guarantee of so many articles highlighting their products) and as a sweetener he gets so much if some one clicks on a link from his site. It will be interesting to see how he spins the TC line now. Will the Shockwave now be better then Parkers? You'll know if he is in tight if they put his name next to Shockey's, gets on a couple of TV shows and is featured in the pro journal and newsletter. Right now he'll be lucky to get a link over to his site from TC's. Also see whose booth he is in at the next SHOT show.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not putting him down, I wish the best of luck for him. I have shook his hand, swapped some stories and would be the first to agree he has done a lot for ML hunting. It's just that he is a professional factory rep, kinda like a recruiter for one of the armed services, you never know if what they are saying is the total factual truth without any twists.

THAT says SOMETHIN'!

After having to learn the hard way in my youth, I stopped decades ago placing little if any faith in what any high paid hired gun/talking head has to say about any product the sale of which he or she's house payment depends on.
In all honesty they are little more than car salesmen and any product endorsements they make should be regarded nothing more than quoting the company script they most likely had little if any to do with authoring.
I have nothing against Mr. Bridges as he is only trying to earn a living and I even might like to try out his job, at least for a while. Having said that, I still would place no faith to any product he endorces.
In todays world the internet is the absolute best place to find out what works best in terms of hunting and shooting equipment.

I fished on the Pro circuit back in the early 90's.We had sponsors for fuel, bait, hooks, rods, reels, boat, motors, trucks, trailers, fish bags, clothes,VHF radio, loran(before GPS),then GPS,fishfinder and about anything on the boat.We left to catch bait around 3-4 am,after catching bait it was offshore to fish.Fish till 3-4pm until the last minute we could make weight in and run the boat back to weight in wide open,we did not care about the motors if one blew we towed to the shop and sponsor would repair/replace at no cost to us.We fished our own rods and reels while fishing with our old fishing clothes. When we got about 10 minutes from the weight in dock,we would change into new sponsors clothes and pull out the new shiny sponsors rods and reels,go the the shows stand in the booths and pimp who ever was paying our bills.I agree the info on boards such as this is better than 90% of what you would get at the fishing expos,Dixie Deer Classics, etc. Now that I pay all the bills for the ML as most others on this board I think the info here is first rate and better than any gun mag/rag or gun show.

We do all this testing for the love of the sport, not for someone who is paying the bills. The info you get here is the truth and not some trumped up B.S. In the past these was a leech who used everyone else's data to enhance his own agenda. Luckily like with all parasites we became immune and he died off. Mike

I knew immediately that it was a world record Buck and that it was soon to be mine. I raised my Model 725 Rem ($541.00) and took dead aim. But I am getting ahead of myself here. It all started when I contacted the guide at BR 50l and set up a three day hunt for $3, 296.00. I got out my back pack $33.89 at Gamgles and started packing it. First in was my GPS from Johnsons at $325.00. Next was my binoculars from Simmards for $239.00. The $39.00 AmZOL eversharp skinner from Jauank fit snuggly into my vest pocket. I then put the $800.00 plane ticket in the brim of my hat and started packing the items I would need to survive a full ten hours away from the Hotel. There was the ringdinger deer caller/scent blocking camo covered rattling bag that only cost $91.69 from Worst buy. Etc. Etc. Etc. and so forth until it begins to get to dark to shoot. So I blasted away and believe it or not I hardly felt the recoil through the eazy feel pad for $6.00. I seen the monster blow moisture through his nose and start to creep down the slope. To be continued next week. Sponsors may contact me at the above mentioned number.

Wait a minute guys, this isn't the friendly board I'm use to. Don't know Toby Bridges and it really doesn't matter. Without advertisers we would all be dead in the water.
So if you know it's B.S. than pass over it. If it really is and people buy into it, it won't last long. Guess I'm not into 'bashings." Just my 2 cents. Have a great day! Dave

Okay. I'm not going to get into this one...should have known better to start with. Since I am an outdoor writer and have passed on some suggestions made by this board...giving full credit to the board...I'll back-off of the subject.
I will just note that generalization of a segment of people isn't always fair. I never wrote about anything, I haven't tested myself. In fact most newspapers do not allow the endorsement of a product, except for book reviews.
Contrary to popular belief, outdoor writes make very little money, compared to any vocation I can think of. But I do believe strongly that everyone has a right to their opinion. Have a great day! Dave

I have no objections to outdoor writers promoting items of sponsors. I do resent disrupting a hunting story by inserting a dozen plugs that interupts the contents of the story or article they are writing. I write a monthly collumn for a magazine and I am aware that it doesn't make me rich. But, I do try to refrain from inserting sales pitches. By the way, It is difficult to come up with something interesting and fresh monthly. I respect the writers who can write daily and stay interesting.

Yes, it is tough to come up with something monthly...and it isn't any easier for me to write two newspaper articles with photos per week and one monthly column for the mag.
Now as promised, I prefer to back off of this thread. I find that when I argue or "bash" another it comes back in spades. I see it this way, if you don't want to read it, don't.
I try to find the good in everyone! Have a great day! Dave

A couple years ago when I first bought my Savage, [before I found this board] I e-mailed Toby B and Randy W asking for info on my new Savage. By reading various articles on the internet they were the only ones that I knew that had experience with smokeless and the Savage. Toby responded the same day and gave me some useful info, never once talking my new rifle down. He was a very helpful in getting me started in the right direction. Now RW was a different story. He finally told me after a couple of e-mails on my part to try reading some more. It seemed to me that he didn't want to be bothered with a newby like me. I'm like Dave Wolf....I look for the good in everybody and if it's slim pickens, I just go on leaving quietly. Zen
