Saw this little guy in front of my camper this afternoon here in Branson. Really neat to see a white one. Even more so to have him stick around for the photo shoot.

Appreciate your sharing the photo Chuck! By the way, have you ever seen black squirrels? We had a section in one of our neighboring towns that had quite a population of them. Richard

Nice photo. We have a good number of "black" grey squirrels here in Celina, Ohio.

As a kid we used to go squirrel hunting a lot. Among the fox squirrel population in Louisiana there was a lot of the black ones. Never saw a black one among the gray squirrel population though.
Have you seen a castrated squirrel? My dad told me about them and said that old boar squirrels would gang up on a young male and castrate them. I thought he must have been smoking something strange until I shot a couple that were obviously "geldings". Then saw a big squirrel fight which he told me was a castration in progress. Guess that is one way to eliminate the competition.

No, but I've seen a squirrel migration.
Black squirrels are usually dark pigmented hair of the fox squirrel, not the cat squirrel (gray). I've never seen a black cat squirrel. I've seen dozens of black ones though.
That would make one pretty mount, Chuck!!!

About 4 years ago, I was sitting in the bank drive through waiting my turn. I saw something moving in a couple of pecan trees that were next door to the bank. At first, I thought they were albino squirrels, but as I watched, I realized they were more of a pink or light orange color. Those trees were on the back half of a friends Auto parts/Radiator store, so I drove around to point the squirrels out to my friend. When I asked if he wanted to see something unusual, he asked, "You mean those pink squirrels?" He and his Dad had been watching them for several days. 4 or 5 of them, all the same odd color. One was a bit lighter though. That was the one I thought was albino. Carter was going to try to get some pictures, but later he said he could never get close enough. We watched those things for about 2 weeks while the pecans were falling, then they moved on and haven't been seen again. They were Fox Squirrels
