.40 RemPac strikes again: Load: 10/65 N110/IMR3031 MV about 2900fps Smooth sized 200 SST Wool Wad Fed. 209A Shot this 180 lb. 8 pt. this past Friday. The shot was about 100 yards and was quartering away hard. The bullet did not exit which I didn’t expect it to on that angle. The bullet made it to the off side shoulder with a small hole in the ribcage. I found the bullet intact just under the hide of the off side shoulder right at the elbow. He only went about 50 yards but no blood trail. Entrance: Entrance inside ribcage: Exit side ribcage: Recovered 200sst: Also shot a 100 lb. doe that morning with the same load at about 75 yards perfectly broadside. No blood for the first 20 yards then good blood for the last 10 yards. Entrance: You could about stick your fist in the hole! Entrance inside ribcage: Exit inside ribcage: Exit:

I'd say that combo is working pretty good. I'll bet Blue Dot would be a good booster for that bullet. Nice job Scott!!

Hard to believe that much entrance damage when the exit was nice and round. I have killed a few with the same bullet, starting at 2750fps. Most shots have been 200yds and a nice thru and thru. I prefer the 195bx, but have over 1k 200sst on hand, so will keep using them. Now working on head and neck shots when possible.

Wow ! That is some damage ! I think you could drop that load and still have very dead deer very quickly . A very nice buck. Chris

Good looking buck, congrats! Did you weigh the bullet? I have not been home for a few days but I plan to weigh it tonight when I get home.

The 200sst retained a little over 50% of its weight.

Nice buck. I'm going to try to hunt the Carolinas with Carlos one of these years.

Come on down. Probably very different than what you are use to hunting.
