I have a new apex stainless that is a few months old. It had a few spots of rust when l got it so l just wiped it down good. It keeps coming back and more spots are coming up even when heavily oiled. Do you think a rust neutralizer would work?

I was using a aerosol Hoppes product this summer that would bead up and trap moisture on stainless. Terrible product. I went back to plain ole remoil no issue. Also if i leave gun in hard case i have had trouble

Had the same problem a few years ago with my stainless MLII. After trying various remedies only to have the spots reoccur, I came up with this procedure.
Cleaned the oil off the barrel with acetone. Removed the rust spots with Blue Wonder rust remover. Cleaned the BL off with acetone. Waxed with Flitz gun wax. It lasts for months with occasional wipe down. (A couple spots did not come off with Blue Wonder, but when working in Flitz on those areas, the rust did disappear.)

Thanks for all the info. I will make sure to not get it on the rubber forearm.
