Has anyone out there tried the Rage two blade broadheads with a compound bow. I am shooing about 65 pounds, and am interested in a large wound channel and good penetration. Some of the ads for this broadhead look impressive, but I don't always trust ads.

Some of the ads for this broadhead look impressive, but I don't always trust ads. Yes, they are a good head. Lots a nay sayers, but, much is common sense. It's a head that opens 2" +. I shot a Texas Dall Ram, with a 52lb Bowtech generating 48lbs of KE and got a passthru. But, I only knicked a rib. Honestly, with the setup I was shooting, I'm underpowered for such a big head. You, on the other hand, will be fine

doegirl,
Nice looking ram. How for did he go after you hit him? It is hard to tell in the picture, but are those carbon arrows? Thanks in advance for any information.
And... isn't DoeGirl redundant?

Doegirl, you are a serious hunter. Congratulations on your success. My son and I both shoot Rages - me, primarily 3 blade and him, 2 blade. The 2 blade is more commercially successful, I believe. Both seem to work well. We each prefer the one we are each shooting. I may use the 2 blade, this year with the Strykeforce.

65 pounds is perfect for a 2 blade rage. it is enough pounds easy. i have there new broadhead called the 40ke ke stands for kinetic energy. i shoot a Mathews dxt at 50 pounds. and from the charts on the back and from what cabelas archery dealers told me it would be enough. i shot a muzzy mx-3 at a doe at 34 yards last year with my dxt and went through 2 ribs and sailed through her like hot butter. the only reason i am trying rage this year is because one i know my bow shoots fast enough to get enough penetration and because it does not take much energy to open a rage up. 2nd reason i am shooting the rage is because it opens up only to an inch and a half. if it was a 2 inch i wouldn't try it till i pulled 60. but it only takes 35 pounds to kill a deer with a fixed blade. 50 is enough for me and i don't know if i will ever get to extreme on my poundage. not a fan of 70 pounds. thats just my opinion
