This is a new scope from Burris. They brought it out last year. It is a first focal plane scope which is really nice for the price of the scope. The recital is their EF1. I don't like a whole bunch of useless lines in scope this one is very user friendly.
This is a fairly heavy 30mm scope. It comes in at 25oz. Its built like a tank. Not what you want for a ultra light gun. The optics are very sharp. Great eye relief. And what I like best is the Side focus. It is very slow. Depending on your eyes you could almost set it and forget it. I have not seen any parallax at all. It mainly sharpens up the image. Below 10 power you don't really need it
The elevation and windage knobs are low profile with caps. 15 MOA per revolution. They are resettable to zero. There is no zero stop. Which you shouldn't expect to get in a $600.00 scope. After you have the rifle sighted in you can turn the moveable band back to zero. I think they could have done a better job with that feature. You need to use a tiny screw drive and find a small notch located between the number 6&7 on the ring. You hold onto the knob and turn the band at the same time. A pull up feature would have been nicer.
I have almost 100 rounds through gun using this scope. No problems with the scope. Did have some problems with the Burris rings. Even though I torqued down the screws that lock the ring to the base they actually shot loose. So I torqued everything down again and marked all sliding surfaces with a white marker. So far everything is staying put.
The elevation and windage knobs are nicely marked but they are really not crisp clicks. But some people only use the ballistic lines in the recital so its not problem
I tested this gun this morning. I fired a 3 shot group with my original sight in which is 1 1/2" high at 100 yards. 3 shots went .400 very happy with the group. Then I clicked the scope down to hit the center of the bulls eye. I fired one shot. I marked that number. Then I reloaded and clicked up 5MOA on the scope then brought it back down and fired #2 went right in the same hole as #1 then I reloaded and clicked up 12MOA and then returned the scope to the setting to hit center #3 went right into the same group. Then I clicked the scope down 12MOA then back to the center #4 went right into the same group.
This scope is doing exactly what its supposed to do. If someone's shopping for a new scope you might want to take a look at this one. Also Burris has a very good warranty policy,
