After reading the ongoing Apex Conversion thread(latest of many) I'm wondering if it is time the mods think about a completely separate forum outside the basic smokeless forums for questions/opinions about plugs/barrels/builders etc? Seems the last year has seen a downturn in the civility that was present on Doug's before and I'm tired of seeing good members leave this site. I know this has already been addressed to some degree but when $$$$ get involved then it seems to bring out the worst in a lot of us. Since I've done business with at least four different parties here (on both sides of the fence it seems) I figured I was as entitled as anyone to say enough is enough. This crap is really getting old.

I for one like having choices and I personally don't see anything wrong with people showcasing their products here.. It's been going on for as long as I've been a member here.. The problem is that some people think that they should be the only one to ADVERTISE on the board because they were here first. Product choices are good, everyone has the right to choose what product they want, weather it's because it's the cheapest option or maybe the most convient option.
I've notice that some members can advertise and showcase their stuff while others can't.
If everyone had the same right to show their stuff on this board without a lot of others crying about it the this board would be a better place to be and is readers on the side line would have to take in all the drama.
Advertising and choices are good, just give everyone the same opportunity as anyone else.. If you don't like it or have nothing good to say don't say nothing at all..
We all want the same thing, and that's an accurate rifle..

I think it should be like other boards and you should have to pay to advertise. I don't believe in free lunches. I also don't believe in petulant behavior.

We all have seen to many leave over this and they had good info for all. And now it is gone and we need to keep everyone here. We all have info to share here. Maybe it is time for a builder and parts section. We need to save all of the good info even if they leave to help everyone.

I agree with cuda I'm a seeker of info and read often The one's that left are missed. I for one have had no problem with the past It did get a little out of hand but to me your going to get that to some degree when people have something they are really into. For a while there Some were really pimping their product and giving unreliable info. I like to see the availability of options. I've been reading since the original doug's (green board I think it was called). I think with out this board I would have quite so thank you to all that contribute and keep the info coming!

All members in good standing are free to show their wares in a reasonable manner! THERE IS NO BEST, and if you or your followers push your system as best it will get moderated...PERIOD! Show your stuff but don't ram it down other peoples throat and you will be fine  edge. |

Ive read these forums for a long time never commented or participated in conversations just read and learned alot. But i see some pretty clear biases here certain systems and their fans and users. Are given free range to push their belief in said system while others are silenced and shut down . this board seems to be becoming very closed minded and certain people are bullish in pushing theyre beliefs

I haven't posted here in months because one of the moderators way overstepped his responsibilities IMO. I know one huge contributor that cancelled his membership for the exact same reason. A moderator needs to strive for solutions to problems, not be part of, or cause the problem...

Everyone knows you are talking about hillbill. He didn't leave because of a mod, he left because Hank was banned and bill has his alliance now and it's not with the do it yourselfers. I bet hanks banning was agreed on by some mods and not by others, fair democracy IMO.

I'll ask again, what member in good standing am I ( I'll assume this is aimed at me ) treating unfairly?
You say you guys have a beef, I've been fair, you want to vent then vent, but stop with the innuendo's and state your cases Precisely...is that fair?

Edge takes all the heat but more than one obviously agreed it was time to cut him loose. |

I'll cut straight to the chase. Hillbill left because the baseball rules were not followed. Members were locked out at Edges discretion over an argument that Edge clearly started. The rules of baseball clearly posted in the forum. Kyle was locked out with no warnings I know of. He was locked out for roughly 24 hours, there is nothing in the baseball rules that discuss 24 hour bans Edge told me personally that he thought Kyle called him a liar in so many words over a group size. Hillbill and I shared several phone calls about the rules not being followed. I know for a fact that this is exactly why Hillbill left and I quit posting. Oh, I just got a text from Earnhardt, he says I'm drinkin the same Hankins koolaid as several others. I've not mentioned Jeff or his board anywhere here have I? I thought I got along fine with everyone? So here goes some spilled Koolaid or something a bit more solid, Edge had already had several pi$$ing matches with Jeff Hankins where I felt Edge was the clear aggressor. IMO this is not what a moderator should do, their job is to solve problems not create them. IMO in no form or fashion should a moderator be involved in an argument or heated discussion with any member on the open forum. IMO Edge clearly had it out for Jeff on a personal level. Yes, Jeff can be and will freely admit that he can be abrasive, but according to Jeff he was never warned before being banned? I know he appears to be unbanned now but were baseball rules followed?

Nope he's still banned, was he ever banned for 7 days? was he ever banned for 30 days? I have no known allegiances with Jeff other than going to one of his shoots and he did some work for me a couple times. I go to Rossman's house and we do work for each other, am I a Rossman MINION too? Way too much of people making this into a new reality show, play by the posted rules, can the personal grudges, stop the name calling and I will have no problems.
