I'd build with a Shilen or a Brux using Luke's new plug. Luke stocks the Brux and Cole stocks the Shilen. Can't go wrong either way. Get you a ff or smooth swinglock die to go with it and ur set. Then all you have to do is choose all the goodies/options you'd like to go with. Just be sure to use good bases, rings and scope so it holds up. Any of the builders will bed everything into the stock of your choice. Good luck and enjoy your journey, research, ask questions, talk to builders and make sure you get exactly what you want. JMO's

I would like a proven barrel and the accessories needed to make a 45 Caliber smokeless sabot less rifle. I have a SS Remington 700 ML for the donor action and using the same 700 stock Thanks Lou Brux barrel, Luke's plug and your choice smooth or FF sizing die.

Hello Ourway If you want to contact me about building a custom M/L just send me a PM on this message board. Since you have a donor action that would be a big help. I use Shilen barrels and have had very good luck with them. If you want a light weight walk around rifle then I would recommend the Sendero taper. You can go with a heavier barrel the price stays the same.
If you talking about using the factory plastic stock I would not recommend doing that. The three most important things not to go cheap on are (1) The barrel (2) Gun stock with good bedding job (3) Quality scope and rings. My guns use the 209 ignition. I also use the tungsten bushings in the breech plugs. My bolt nose conversions are a little different then the Hunter bolt nose because I use a XP100 firing pin assembly from PTG. Other than that it comes down to quality machine work.
I would be interested in talking with you about what you might need to build a custom 45 M/L

That pretty much leaves a trigger and that is no place to skimp either, whether on a good blue-print or a drop-in. The stock leaves some wiggle room as a well bedded Boyd's ($109) can shoot as well as a well bedded McMillan ($350 and up); add $150-300 depending on who you pay for the bedding job. The long and short is don't skimp. Buy once, cry once.

I would recommend the hunters bolt nose and arrowheads plug. Super simple and replacement parts will be easily had in the future. A modified sendero should be the lightest contour you would consider, a regular remington sendero is too short in the shank and a poor recommendation. Luke has modified sendero barrels prefit for the 700ml using hunters bolt nose and the arrowhead plug. One stop shop

Rambler thanks for the heads up. Yes I have been contacted. (And Jeff didn't tell me too get lost) He simply said in a very nice way he does not build on the Remington 700 ML'ers, but does build on rifle actions as well as the Remington 700 ultimate. He has a turn around of 8 months. I want to thank everyone who has been very helpful to some one that knows very little about the new guns mentioned on the sight. Thanks again Lou
