Not having reloaded CF ammunition in decades, I had a guy give me some pointers and loaded up my first box of .450 Bushmaster rounds. I used Federal 205 primers, 37.9grs LilGun and the Hornady 250gr. FTX bullets. It was cool enough this morning to give the reloads a try. It went very well for an old guy getting back into reloading. Range: 150 yards.... 3-shot group.

Wow that's pretty good. What all kind of equipment do you have for reloading? I wouldn't mind doing some for a pistol.

I was able to get my hands on the Hornady .450 Bushmaster - Series V, 4 die set (Item #546452). I use the same shell holder as I do for the .45 Winchester Magnum brass used in my Ultimate BP Xpress. It takes time, but I don't mind, besides anything to do with shoot'n is just plain FUN. I weighed each charge individually, which is my preferred way.

Did you time that load? I didn't see it anywhere. Looks pretty impressive, about the same accuracy you showed before with the loaded ammo I think. One thing I have noticed on most of my guns that are put together properly, they tend to shoot most anything straight. Congrats there, you obviously have a winner in your hands.

Never thought about timing. Work was completed that required the scope to be re-zeroed, which I did on another target. I just rode down in the gator and hung this new target up, then returned and shot the three rounds, loading individually and taking my time. Maybe a minute between shots.

Used this rifle for opening day and just after daylight I got to use it. Approximately a 70yd shot and the buck went 30yds. I will say the FTX did its job, with a 1 1/4" exit wound. Nice buck, not a lot of antler.
Normally....... I'd be using the muzz but, the Leupold VX6 had to be sent in to Leupold for repair. It was fun using a CF and this .450 though.
