Awesome looking gun love the stock! I keep thinking I'll build another one soon but the one I hand shoots better than me so it's hard to justify it but I'm sure it will happen some time soon. Great looking rifle!

the rifle looks great....love the stock....how did you modify the bullets...they look good also...like how you modified the HP into a semi round nose and a pointed bullet...

I took this one out on it's maiden voyage, I resized the spitzerized 300 gr. xtp's to .4493 dia. used a greased veggie wad and 60 grs. of Imr 4198 and a federal 209A primer , speeds were around 2530 fps with a low ES. The first shot out of the clean barrel is a little high but the other 2 settled in nicely. I only had 3 vials of powder measured at this load. Nothing fantastic but shows promise.

Those are some of the most perfectly round holes I've ever seen.

Curious George?, if you notice the square shoulder on the modified 300 xtp's ,that's what makes the nice cut holes in the paper targets.

That is a looong barrel. Care for bayonet? I got a spare AK bayonet if you want to attach it. Very good looking rifle.

how are you installing the lead tips in the XTP's...and where did you get the tips... No lead added, the nose punch forces the lead core out the hollow pt. and then forms the spire tip

Smoke, who made your swaging dies? I'm thinking of getting some to do the same thing but with .458 boolits and .40 cal XTPs. what kind press you using, loading or dedicated swaging press? be nice to get that nice tip/semi wadcutter profile and a flat base too. the vials that I got from you are still serving well. Thanks, 10

Cole...............a .45/70 case will make those nice holes! I would swear you would need a bullet, (like a .38 wad cutter) to get holes like that. The XTP type put a decent hole but I have never seen ones like that? Unless the backer was such that it did not allow any tearing? So Paul............what did you use to get those nice holes? OR, is there an auto-cad program that transfers you shots in perfect form to a new target? Richard

If you notice the reformed bullets have a ridge , I had to take down my nose punches because the leading edge was starting to split, it forms a square shoulder on the bottom of the ogive. that cuts a nice clean hole in the target. These are unaltered just the way they are produced from the bullet. I'm sure the shoulder will effect long range performance tho.
