Finally got this project finished up...
This latest project probably will be my last so I did something a little different than usual...Sold my Rem-Pac and my Sav-Pac recently so I needed a gun to hunt with and spend time time at the range with...
This is what I came up with.... A Designated Range Stock and a Designated Hunting Stock....Go figure
Remington 700ML with a 26" Brux barrel / Modified Sendero Arrowhead Bushing Plug .030 Bushing Black Ice Treatment Rifle Basix Trigger 2# Vortex Viper 4x16
Candy Apple Burgandy stock is a Boyds Pro Varmint Tacticool [custom paint by friend who paints custom Bikes and Cars]. Devcon bedding Aluminum Pillars [Rossman Pillars]
Desert Tan stock is a Boyds Varmint Thumbhole [paint by me and a couple cans of Krylon] Devcon Bedding Aluminum Pillars [Rossman Pillars]
Thanks to Luke for the barrel and all of the other goodies that it takes to do the job....Turn around time was amazingly quick. Thanks to Rossman for the pillars....Best out there Thanks to Alvin Cabello for the custom paint..
Haven't been to the range to shoot the Brux yet , but hope it's as accurate as the Pac-Nors were in the past... When I sold my Sav-Pac I sold the most accurate gun I ever owned.... The new owner loves it so it's ok. Zen

Nice guns Zen. I particularly like the red one! Having been a benchrest shooter for some time, I can appreciate the slick red paint job. In the BR game, you see a lot of neat painted stocks. Being a auto painter before being a PO, I got pretty good at doing custom paint jobs on cars which carried over to my BR guns. You got a great pair there! RiverRat is going to be hitting you up for one of those paint jobs! Richard

What is even funnier is I just got a new vortex viper hs which happens to be the exact same scope he has on his gun. Along with we have the exact same stock on our guns. Guess great minds think alike! I love the candy apple stock! Great job Zen!

Zen, what do you think of the Tacticool? First impressions? I really like them, and see they are taking off on builds. Just wondered what you thought of it. Thanks.

Guy.... I think I'm going to like the Tacticool stock at the range.Like the adjustable cheekpiece also.... It might be a little much for the spot and stalk hunting I do... Probably be a good blind gun though...Overall it's a good piece of wood for the money.
Earnhart....The paint was custom mixed in my buddy's shop...Same paint he regularly uses to paint Harleys with... 2 coats of primer over a finished Boyds stock, 4 coats of color and 4 coats of clear. I'm praying it shoots those 290 TEZ's as good as Richards new Brux does.
Thanks guys...Zen

Panhandle,
You won't be disappointed with the Brux barrels.
Some want switch barrel set up...why not a switch stock set up :-)
classy looking rifle and stocks

Nice looking combinations. Don’t think I could buy that statement of this probably being the last project. Look forward to reading stellar results.

"Almost" went with a candy apple metallic red on the current 375 project, but since I had the savpac 40 blood spattered, I decided to go a different color than red. Love the look of that Red tacticool, very sharp! I'm sure it'll be a shooter too.

Very nice looking rifles and a great paint job! The tan on black is my favorite color combo for a rifle.

Hi Zen, how much does the hunter version weigh with the modified sendero barrel? Wayles Wayles, Zen had to get a hover round last year cause he's get old and blind in one eye and can't see out the other. He has one of those miniature donkeys to hall around his new gun. Not sure how he's going to see what he's shooting at last year he missed a buck of a life time. Don't know about this yea who! lol jk couldn't resist!

Hi Riverrat, My rempac weighs in at around 12 something and its not a pleasure to pack around. Since I left the sandhills and moved to the Ozarks I have went back to my TC encore conversion to tote up and down these hills. I did not hear about the buck of a lifetime story.[how big was he?] I had already filled out and was hunting with my daughter when one of those monsters showed up[over 200 inches with a nontypical rack, had points every where]. He was a tad far for her 6mm. He must be keeping the story to himself. Even my .300 win mag sendero is more than what I want to carry. They were great in the sandhills for the long shots but not required for the under 200 yds encountered down here Wayles

Hey Wayne.....Don't take anything that riverrat says seriously...Here's a picture of him when he was a kid... It says a lot to what is wrong with him today...Anyhow... I'll weigh the gun and get back. Zen
