Not that I know of when you convert a 45-70 barrel. There is that stud that holds the forearm on. On factory ML handirifles the stud is different and usually has a dedicated forearm. Most guys just go with a folding ramrod.

Get the forearm for the huntsman Muzzleloader and its extendable ramrod. The barrel stud for the forearm is the same as the center'fires.

I sent Slufoot a Universal Power rod and a Knight ramrod thimble, and he made me a custom collapsible ramrod. Works excellent, but I only use it while hunting. I use a range rod for everything else. You can read about in this thread. Lots of pictures too, including the ramrod, thimble mounted, inletting the forend, and the fabricated retention spring. I've got some way better targets since that first range session. That session was pretty hodge podge, like a blind squirrel trying to find a nut. Hope the url works, if not search "Slufoot Stainless Super Smoker .45." dougsmessageboards.proboards.com/thread/8208/slufoot-stainless-super-smoker-45
