Gosh! I hate reporting this but since the other day I said Yea and today I need to say Nea! I best tell you what I have found. Late in Feb - I shot the 40x200 in a 1-28 at 60 yards and all looked very good... dougsmessageboards.proboards.com/thread/17033/lehigh-40x200-xp-28-twistWednesday I returned to the farm with the same Elite 50 cal. using the same powder load and sabot. The difference was I was now shooting @ 150 yards. The target at 150 showed some de-stabilization. I really wanted to think it was just me. Friday, today I returned to the farm set the target at 170+ yards. These are pictures of todays result... I can no longer claim success with the 40x200XP, but as soon as Lehigh runs the shorter 40x185 - the 1-28 shooters will be in like flint...

your test was in a 50 cal. I have a Bergara 45 ml barrel for my encore. It is a 1/28 twist. www.bergarausa.com/Store-View.php?id=412do you plan to test in a 45 and what twist? Yeah I have MLII and Encore conversion with faster twist. and they will be great with the 40 cal 200 gr. XP. then I have 2 45cal 700ML with savage plugs and hunter bolt nose but original barrels, I'm thinking they are 1/28 same as the 50s but I haven't really checked. They shoot great with 40X200 XTP and SST over BH209 so I'm thinking the 40X200XP will be good? Will the "lighter" material = longer bullet decrease accuracy in my 700ml 45s? I'll test for sure but looking for some insight. Thanks, 10 ga

They were really tumbling out of that. At least out of the 1-28 they were not always in a true tumble. But, not a real big deal as Lehigh expected them not to work from a 1-30. They are going to build the same XP @ 180/185 grains to solve that problem. Just not sure when they will set the CNC machine to run them. It is my understanding that he ran the .452x250's last week, and I do not know what bullet is scheduled next... These are the two ML out and in stock now. 40x200 XP 452x250 XP
